Lenoir-Rhyne
Although Rich's professional background was in sales and sales management in medical manufacturing, he made the quantum leap to development in higher education in 2001 by going to work for his alma mater Lenoir-Rhyne. He is currently the Executive Director of Development and won the 2006 Award for Creativity from ALDE, as well as a CASE Circle of Excellence Award in Fundraising for an interactive planned giving CD-ROM.
Rich graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1988 with a degree in Biology and a minor in Business. He has also earned a Masters in Business Administration from Jacksonville University in 1994.
Rich is a Member and Chairman of Catawba County Leave a Legacy, a Member of the North Carolina Planned Giving Council, Board Member and President of the Catawba County Executives Club, Member of the Hickory Rotary Club, and current President of the Kappa Omicron Alumni Chapter of Theta Xi.
Rich is a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Morganton and is a volunteer Assisting Minister and Chair of the Capital Campaign. Rich is an Eagle Scout, serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 184, and is a Wood Badge recipient. He has been married to Christine Post-Duncan since 1988 and together they have two sons: Jake and Will.
