A state tradition for over 20 years, the NC Beautiful Classic is NC Beautiful's primary fundraising event and attracts sponsors and donors from across the state. This year's event will be held from July 15-17 at the prestigious Pinehurst Resort and Spa in Pinehurst, NC.

Welcome to the 2011 North Carolina Beautiful Golf Classic.

As Chair of the Steering Committee is it once again my pleasure to invite you to the 26th Anniversary Edition of the NC Beautiful Golf Classic at Pinehurst Resort. Every year, golfers of every skill level join with citizens committed to educating our youth about the environment and our state's greatest corporate sponsors for a fantastic weekend. Not only will you experience terrific golf, outstanding food, and legendary Pinehurst hospitality but you will be doing it among friends. That's truly an unbeatable combination.

Better yet, all this fun and camaraderie raises funds for one of the finest and most respected environmental non-profits in the state. For over forty years NC Beautiful has had the pleasure of teaching our children about the wonder of North Carolina's special environmental gifts, and the pride that can be obtained through caring for these treasures.

We have worked to make a few changes to the 2011 event that will facilitate an improved pace of play, a new course combination (1 and 8) a better check-in process, and new dining options, so look for more information in the coming weeks and months!

The Classic is NC Beautiful's principle fundraiser and has provided North Carolina's business leaders an opportunity to support the natural beauty of the state for twenty-six years. The organization, a 501 (c) (3) charity, receives no state or federal funding for its important work. Please join us at Pinehurst, a true National Treasure in its own right, this July. What better way to show your support in the effort to keep North Carolina beautiful.

SCHEDULED EVENTS

All activities this year will be conducted in the Grand Ballroom, which will serve as our center of operations for the entire weekend. You will always know where to find your friends and competitors, our terrific display of auction items, team scores, or just a place to cool off with a cold beverage!

We will again have a Friday night reception so that everyone can renew acquaintances and get into the spirit of the weekend. This is always a great way to kick things off right!

We received nothing but positive feedback on our Saturday night dinner and auction. The presence of a live auctioneer added excitement to the evening. We hope to replicate that excitement this year by continuing to give you the chance to win some outstanding and truly one-of-a-kind items.

We will also have some great silent auction and sealed-bid items, and a contest or two that will give you the chance to win some exciting prizes. We love giving back to those who so generously give to us!

We will once again work with the Pinehurst Chef to create a very special menu just for our NC Beautiful guests. Having dinner together as one large group on Saturday night with everything at our disposal turned out to be a very nice and cost-effective evening for our guests. Hopefully it also gave you some extra time to do your own thing before and after the event.

We are again opening up the Saturday night event to non-playing sponsors as well. So, if you have some non-golfing friends who would like to take part in the weekend, here is their chance!

As usual, on Friday night you can dine with your guests at any of the Pinehurst dining facilities.

Look for more information, primarily through email, in the weeks and months to come. I think you will find this, our 26th Anniversary event, to be the best yet!

I look forward to renewing our acquaintance July 13 through July 15 for the 2011 NC Beautiful Classic!
