NC BEAUTIFUL MISSION:

To foster environmental stewardship through education and outreach to perpetuate the natural beauty of North Carolina.

PROPOSAL REVIEW & EVALUATION:

Proposals will be selected based on a review process by Duke Energy Retirees and members of the NC Beautiful staff and board. They will use the following point system to make a final selection.

Design (up to 30 points)
Project Evaluation (up to 25 points)
Budget (up to 10 points)
Project Personnel (up to 15 points)
Project Sustainability (up to 20 points)

GRANT CALENDAR:

Guidelines available to Teachers	September 1, 2010
Application Submission period	September 1, 2010 – November 10, 2011
Notification to Awardees	December 10, 2010
Award checks mailed	January 11, 2011
Grant Period	January 21 – June 21, 2011
**Final Report with Receipts	June 21, 2011
Next Grant Cycle	September 2011 – June 2012

** A year end report not to exceed two (2) pages, describing the successes of your project and anything you would change to improve your project, will be due on this date. Copies of your receipts and a total of monies spent should be included. Photos and any other items of interest would also be appreciated.
